Richmond, VA Native, AARNxBRWN Releases Sophomore Project, “Save Me Im Drowning”

After the release of his 2019 project “GHost”, Recording Artist, Producer & Songwriter AARNxBRWN has resurfaced with his sophomore project “Save Me Im Drowning”(SMID). Produced, written and recorded by AARNxBRWN in his Richmond home, SMID pushes his unique sound forward with honest stories of his childhood, Richmond City upbringing and deep self reflection delivered through intricate yet playful flows over his genre-bending production.

AARN began taking music seriously about 3 years ago, evolving from a bedroom creative to a skilled musician, taking production credit for all but two songs on this project and writing  for all. AARN crafts these tracks from inception of the inspiration to finish, single handedly, with contributions from fellow RVA artist friends such as Rupert, LA Moore, CA$, Steevn Shires & Recluse. When it comes to creativity and relaying human emotion through sonics and words, AARNxBRWN delivers in an eccentric fashion reminiscent of fellow VA natives like Pharrell, Missy  Elliot and Timberland. AARN also draws inspiration from artists like Schoolboy  Q, Mac Miller, Kanye West, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, Tame Impala, and Thom Yorke!

As AARN stated in a recent article...

Taking risks has become a central theme of Brown’s upcoming album, Save Me I’m Drowning, which drops November 6. He talks about a kind of inspired urgency — a willingness to jump in the water and ignore others’ fears.

“Now it’s like there’s a fire under my ass,” Brown said. “There’s a single off of the album … the whole concept is almost like a prodigal son story, the idea of going away and ‘jumping into water’… Taking that risk, whatever it is — whether it’s a social risk or a life risk or whatever that thing is — and people being scared of you taking that risk.”

In order to learn, the prodigal son had to leave, Brown explained. Even if it meant making mistakes, he could only gain and grow by venturing out before returning home.

“He had to go away to get enough wisdom to understand that everything he needed was home,” Brown said. “At some point of time he had to take that jump.

“Save Me I'm Drowning” will be released on Equals7 Records on Nov. 6th, 2020. It will be available for purchase and streaming on Bandcamp. It will be available on all other digital streaming platforms on Nov. 20th! Be sure to follow AARN on Instagram, Clubhouse app & Twitter @AARNxBRWN.
